Photography Contest


All Photos should be taken in Lincolnville, or taken looking towards Lincolnville, (such as Maiden's Cliff) or of Lincolnville people or memorabilia relating to Lincolnville. Photographer does not need to live in Lincolnville.

All photos will be exhibited during the Bicentennial week-end, June 21-22-23, at Lincolnville Center. All amateur photos will be on loan to the Lincolnville Historical Society for a year for display.

A cash prize will be awarded to the best photo in each of the three classes. Ribbons may be awarded at the discretion of the judges.

15. Experimental; Includes computer generated, multiple exposures, collages, special effects, filters and other non-conventional photography.

16. Then & Now Two photos framed together, taken a number of years apart; can include a label. The earlier photo does not have to be the work of the entrant.

17. Reproductions/enlargements of old Lincolnville photos; date or era may be on front.

18. A Photograph with Text For example: A milk pail and how your grandfather might have used it or a portrait along with a story.


No nudes will be accepted.

 
 
Contest Rules


NUMBER OF ENTRIES ARE UNLIMITED

Class B is open to all amateur photographers (one who does not advertise or promote him or herself as a professional photographer and, who does not earn more than half of his or her annual income as a photographer)

1.     Prints up to 16x20 will be accepted.

2.     An enlargement may be made by laser photocopier or inkjet printer, as long as it is a true enlargement of the original. Photos may be enhanced but not manipulated, except for experiemental category.

3.     Photographs must be mounted on heavy stock and with a hanger attached.

4.     Any photograph that does not conform to the category entered, will be moved into a more appropriate category.

5.     Decisions of the judges will be final and deviation from the above rules will automatically disqualify an entry. Judges are not eligible.


Application Form


Each photo must have attached to the back: Name, Address, Phone Number (email if available) class and category, and include $1 per photo.  There can be NO writing or anything else added to the front of photos unless stated in the category.

All decisions of the contest committee and judges will be final. All photographs will be given reasonable care. The photography contest committee and/or Lincolnville Bicentennial Committee and/or the Lincolnville Historical Society cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged photos.
