Young Family Genealogical Workbook
by Donald Young, Jackie Young Watts and Isabel
Morse Maresh
The Young Family Genealogical Workbook was done in 1991. Donald L. Young
had spent many years collecting Young Family data. His paternal cousin
Jackie Young Watts had collected many photos of Young families, as well
as being active in the Young reunions, which had been held for over
one hundred years.
In 1990, Jackie enlisted her maternal cousin, Isabel
Morse Maresh; to help them put the book together. The trio met weekly
for a year. Don put the data into a computer, which he was learning.
Isabel corrected data, wrote letters and pasted photos, while Jackie
made phone calls and did legwork bringing it down to present generations.
They made trips to the Maine State Archives in Augusta to gather more
data. The work is a copyrighted book with copies at the Library of Congress
in Washington, D.C. and has 770 pages, with over 1000 pristine photos.
