Lincolnville Timeline
1980-1990
The population in 1980 is 1,414.
1983: The town votes to include kindergarten at LCS.
1985: A Town Charter is adopted. Lincolnville operates under a town
meeting/selectmen/town administrator form of government. The Charter
increases the number of selectmen fromn three to five.
Most of the dairies stop picking up milk in Lincolnville, and dairy
farms all but disappear.
1987: Another addition brings the K-8 school up to 11 classrooms.
1987: The Lincolnville Town Office is built.
Blueberries and organic apples are grown commercially.
